Extended Studies
Pre-College Program

July 5 -  30, 2010
20 intense days of full-time studies in visual arts and design.
Interdisciplinary. Studio-based. College-credit.

  • Join a community of talented young artists/designers.
  • Build your portfolio for college admission.
  • Become a perceptive observer, critical thinker and dedicated artist/designer.

The Pre-College Program is a visual arts and design immersion for serious art students between 16-18 years who have completed grade 10, 11 or 12.

If you are a talented high school student who is serious about pursuing post-secondary studies in visual art or design, the Pre-College Program is your opportunity to become immersed in a full month of intensive studio and liberal arts experiences at the college level that will focus your learning on the materials, skills and knowledge that are relevant to artists and designers today. It is a genuine opportunity for you to work like a professional artist/designer and to be mentored by professional artists and designers.

Social and educational events and out trips during the Pre-College Program will open exciting opportunities for you to interact with your surroundings as an artist/designer and to get to know everyone in the Program. We will also introduce you to artists and designers who have been resourceful and successful in their careers.

Accommodation for out-of-town students is available.

Each year the new Pre-College Program registration brochure is available online in January. Please contact the ACAD Extended Studies office for more information.
