What is great about ACAD is the diversity within the community. There is room for all kinds of individuals, and no one needs to feel like an "outsider". The students have a strong sense of creativity in common, but everyone is supported in finding their own way. The instructors are more than happy to help you with this process, but they also give you the freedom to work and think on your own.

My favorite thing about ACAD is the galleries and all the ongoing student shows. It is great to see all the artwork being showcased and a fantastic opportunity for the students to be seen and to get inspired by each other.

I have enjoyed most of all the professional work ethic I have gained during my studies. My instructors and classmates have pushed me to work harder and harder, and as a result changed my attitude towards art and design as a commercial industry. To make a living out of art and design we need to work hard, to produce great results, to follow deadlines, to deal with clients and to keep a positive attitude. It is not enough just to be a creative soul. ACAD has taught me this and much more.

At ACAD I have learned and experienced more than I could ever imagine. I get more passionate about working with art and design every day I go to school. I hate my summer breaks and will cry when I graduate. I have become a schoolaholic because of ACAD. That must be a good sign.
If you are thinking of relocating to Calgary or attending ACAD, work as hard as you can and use the instructors as much as you can. Get involved with the community outside your classes and make collaborative projects across the programs. Do all of this, and you will fall in love.

At ACAD the sense of artistic community in the hallways, studios and every part of the college is very clear. It's great to be exposed to the different ideas flowing in every department and to get inspired by that.

The best part about the college is the amount of learning happening around, not only artistically but personally. People here in Calgary are so diverse that there's always something new to learn from strangers. This is always a big inspiration for experimenting with my work.

I love the interaction of people and how challenging and rewarding the intensity of the design program is. ACAD is a great place to learn and experiment. There is a great, vivid sense of artistic community from which inspiration comes.

If you are thinking of moving to Calgary, be open minded to the amount of possibilities of growing, creating and experimenting. Be inspired by everything and everyone around you. Be ready for challenges that will only help you become a better artist or designer.
